A busy Herefordshire petrol station is getting an extension serving hot food to go.
Off the A44 Bromyard bypass, the town's Texaco garage is operated by Motor Fuel Group, which applied in December to add a single-storey extension to the existing retail and workshop area.
Replacing the current car wash area immediately to the east of the shop, the 83-square-metre extension is designed to match the station’s existing materials.

It will include a savoury counter, sandwich rack, cake display and what are described as “crisp impulse units”, the firm’s planning application said.
It will increase the workforce at the site from the current three full-time and four part-time staff, to eight full-time and six part-time.

With no objections on highways, heritage or ecology grounds, nor from the town council or public, planning officer Josh Dyer concluded the proposal complied with local and national planning policies.
A condition with the permission limits the opening hours of the new outlet to between 7am and 10pm.
A further condition backed by the county’s environmental health officer requires the land to be checked for contamination, and for a plan to be in place to deal with this if found.
